Thompson Families Read
Thompson Public Library builds on early literacy
|
As your child’s first teacher have you ever asked yourself, “What do I need to know to help my child
enjoy sharing books and to prepare him/her for learning to read and succeed in school?”
“What kinds of books should I choose?” “What kinds of things can I do at home to enhance my child’s learning?”
Thompson Public Library has the information and materials you need to assist you and your
child with early literacy. Thompson Families Read will
provide information to parents on enhancing and reinforcing emergent literacy skills for
children ages birth to 5 years. It is divided into three different age levels; infants,
toddlers, and preschoolers.
Be sure to pick up pamphlets on Early Literacy in the Parenting Section.
Children's Staff is available to answer questions on early literacy.
We are also available to present "Thompson Families Read" to parenting or homeschooling groups.
Please contact Kim Flynn or Lisa Derrico at 923-9779 or kflynn@thompsonpubliclibrary.org.
