Fast Read Program Returns for the Summer!

Spend the summer reading our "hottest" titles. With the Library's Fast Read program sponsored by the
Friends of the Library you won't have to wait long to read your favorite book...simply choose a title from our Fast Read selection. You have one week to read each book. Books can not be reserved or renewed, and overdue charges are $1 per day.

ADA & the Library

The Library strives to provide services to all patrons. If you or someone you know enjoys reading, but has difficulty seeing, the Library offers the following:

Three vision machines to enlarge reading material. Two are for at home use, and one is at the Library for patrons to try. Interested? Call or visit Kate. This service is sponsored by the Thompson Lions Club.

Books for the blind This is a free service offered by the State of Connecticut. The Library serves as a demonstration site, come see the equipment and tapes. Visit with Janine to learn more about the program.

Try these items… Audiobooks on CD… Audiobooks on Tape… Large print books The Library has a wide selection of fiction & non-fiction. Borrow your favorite authors, New York Times Bestsellers, and discover new favorites. Ask the staff for recommendations.

ADA Catalog Search Search the Library’s holdings using this graphic free, large text version of our online catalog.



Yearbook search...If you have a yearbook from a Thompson school in good condition and would like to donate to the Library’s local history collection, please call or visit Kate at the Library.



Plan a day trip...borrow our passes for free or discount admission

MP3 players for loan

Borrow one of our players for your first eAudiobook experience!
It's as easy as 1...2...3!!

1. Log in with your library barcode number & create a free account with NetLibrary.
2. Select the books you'd like to listen to.
3. Request the player - forms are available at the Library Desk.

Library staff will take care of the rest. Please note -- this service is available to Thompson adult patrons whose account is in good standing with the Library. A $10 deposit is required at time of check out.



Community @ the Library

The Library is proud to serve as a drop off location for several great Community based projects. All drop-off boxes are located near the entrance. Please see a staff member if you have questions.
