Friends of the Library

Established in 1989, the Friends support the Library. Funds received by the Friends from membership dues, book & tag sales and fundraisers are used solely for Library needs beyond the budget provided by the town, with an emphasis on Children’s Services.

Here are a few of the projects sponsored by the Friends:

  • Art @ the Library
  • Discount Passes to Roger Williams Park Zoo & The Old Sturbridge Village
  • Library card sleeves
  • Rainy day bags
  • Summer Fast Read program

The Next Chapter Fund

The Next Chapter Fund was created by the Friends in 2010 to help move the Library into the future. The Friends are committed to supporting the Library’s plan to renovate and upgrade existing space and services.

2012: $1,156 was used to purchase a computer literacy system for children.

2016: $842.85 was used to support the Laboratory @ the Library. Filament for the 3D printer was purchased, along with technology toys for children.

2018: $1,420 was used to purchase 3 new additions to the Laboratory: Cricut Maker machine, 3D pens and a button making machine are now available at the Library.

Donations to the Next Chapter continue to be welcome for future projects. Your support would be greatly appreciated. See the Friends membership form to donate.
